Last night we went through immigration in Lima. I walked up to the man stamping our passports and I said "Hola." He said it back and asked me if I speak Spanish. I said yes, somewhat. He asked me why. I said that my grandmother is from Chile and my mom is fluent in Spanish so I speak it with them once in a while. He said have a wonderful trip and I said thank you. It was cool to get off the plane and immediatley get to test out my Spanish skills. I love speaking Spanish. I feel like it flows from within me. And when I am surrounded by people who speak my heritage, I feel at home.
Lots of love from Peru!
